Whether you’re spending Valentine’s Day with your soulmate or indulging in a little me time, it’s the perfect time of the year to splurge on a new chiffon nightgown or a lace-trimmed set. For me, that purchase will come from one of the Black-owned lingerie brands I’ve been anxious to add to my collection.

I’m sure you’ve already heard all the buzz around Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty designs. The playful silhouettes, inclusive sizing, and approachable price point practically made us forget about all of those old-school lingerie brands. But our other favorite Black-owned lingerie brands also deserve to be on your radar. Searching for dreamy lingerie with sustainability at the top of mind? Look no further than Bum Cake’s vintage chemise and Torlowei’s ethically made satin skirt. If you want something on the more practical side, there are options versatile enough to be worn as outerwear, like Nubian Skin’s biker shorts and LaSette’s lounge-worthy tops.

Here, discover all nine of our favorite Black-owned lingerie brands to slip on this Valentine’s Day.

Anya Lust

Anya Lust takes sensuality to new heights with bras that have strategically placed cutouts, and nightgowns designed with peek-a-boo fabrics.

After spending 17 years modeling for several notable lingerie brands, Amber Tolliver created Liberté. It’s the go-to brand for those who want gravity-defying support without sacrificing style.

Savage x Fenty

Thank Rihanna for dreaming up these fun designs. And it’s not just undergarments—you’ll also find smile-inducing socks and playful robes.

LaSette believes that lingerie doesn’t have to be reserved for special occasions. That’s why their sensual, fun designs are made for everyday wear.

Suzy Black NYC

Find unique silhouettes like one-shoulder bras, and unexpected finishes like playful eyelets in Suzy Black NYC’s collections. Even better? It’s all made in the States.

Bum Cake

Bum Cake’s website is a vintage lover’s paradise. It’s filled with retro finds like nightgowns from the ’80s, as well as a chic collection of vintage home finds.

The vibrant, jewel-toned colors are certainly enough to make you fall in love with Torlowei’s silky pajamas and undergarments. Plus it’s all sustainably and ethically made in Nigeria’s first registered lingerie factory.

Nubian Skin

Nubian Skin has mastered the art of creating undergarments to match women of color’s skin tones. Whether you’re in need of a bodysuit or a bralette, you’ll find it on the brand’s website.

D Bleu Dazzled

For those looking for Cardi B–, Lady Gaga–, and Beyoncé-level glam, you can grab something special from D Bleu Dazzled’s website (all three of those divas have worn custom creations from the brand). Their offerings span from crystal-covered stockings to sparkling bras.

Azaira Intimates

Founder Evangeline Poku tells InStyle that Azaira Intimates began out of her quest for lingerie that was both beautiful and tailored to the fuller-busted woman. Relaunched in 2020, the brand brings quality intimate-wear to a widely forgotten market, exploring the intricate world of lingerie with delicate fabrics and 24-karat gold-plated accents.

So, pick any from your favorite brands and enjoy your inner comfort.
